The programme is for those who have some general horticultural experience and/or a desire to work in arboriculture horticultural sector. Students will learn the skills, knowledge and attributes needed to work in horticulture under limited supervision taking responsibility for work outcomes.

Students in this programme will learn the skills of the landscape construction trade, gaining confidence in using building tools, and how to build and make landscape elements. The programme is very practical with setting out, woodworking, laying concrete, and paving with drainage. Students will also learn about planting, laying lawns and some maintenance.

Students in this programme will build on technical skills and learn about park and open spaces management, seasonal plans, and team member supervision. This programme includes part-time work placements.

This programme teaches advanced technical skills around maintenance and management activities, as well as the skills for supervision and more senior roles. Projects for councils and residents will form part of the teaching, including the felling of large, difficult trees. Students will also be involved in work experience trips to regional councils.

In this programme students will study the essentials of Landscape Garden Design, learning the knowledge and skills they need to be able to design and produce professional residential garden plans.
