Founded in 1924 as Hamilton Technical College with two name changes before becoming the Waikato Institute of Technology in 2001, discover the history of Wintec.

Through honouring cultural traditions, ceremonies, and practices of the different islands that make up the Moana, we embrace every aspect of our students/ākonga journey.

Design Factory NZ

We are home to New Zealand’s first and only Design Factory NZ, a globally-connected co-creation space where tauira work with industry partners to solve complex problems.

Our campuses

We have three campuses in Hamilton as well as facilities at Thames and the Ōtorohanga.

Our event facilities cater for a multitude of occasions from small business meetings, social functions, and complex conferences, to unique private celebrations.
