Code of Practice

Caring For Our Students

When students come to study at Wintec, we have an important responsibility to ensure that those students are well informed, safe and properly cared for. Wintec is a signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students, published by the New Zealand Ministry of Education. The Code of Practice is available to read in other languages by following this link to the Code of Practice page.

If you are under 18 years old and studying at Wintec, we will:
  • Place you into the Wintec Approved Student Village until you turn 18
  • Meet with you monthly to discuss your wellbeing and assist you with your study issues
  • Have regular contact with your parents and your host parents to ensure you are happy with the living situation
