Courses

Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation

Our Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation is designed for those who want to grow their innovation capabilities without putting their careers on hold.

This semester-length qualification provides you with an introduction to transdisciplinary research and innovation, focusing on applying this learning and assessing a real-world challenge. You are supported by both an academic and industry supervisor and will learn a range of innovation skills centred on an ability to combine insights and perspectives from diverse disciplines and plan innovation projects that are best fit for all involved.

The learning involves:
  • Access to national and international experts in innovation and problem-solving
  • Joining a local Community of Practitioners for support, learning and networking
  • Monthly Community of Practice days, with lectures, workshops, seminars and coaching
  • Learning the critical reframing of a real-world problem, with the goal of designing a best-fit solution

Master of Applied Innovation

Our Master of Applied Innovation takes the research and frameworks created in the postgraduate certificate into the real world, working to deliver a high-fidelity, practical solution to their complex challenge.

This 18-month course offers flexibility, with you working at least three days a week on your challenge in the workforce, supported by world-class industry coaches and academic supervisors from across Wintec | Te Pūkenga.

Drawing from a transdisciplinary approach, this qualification is holistic in scope, allowing you to develop an innovation toolkit and practice that is varied, rigorous and comprehensive. You are coached to become an innovation practitioner and are well-positioned to lead innovation projects post-study.
