Tamariki on the swing at Kidz at Winec ECE centre

At Kidz@Wintec, we believe tamariki (children) learn and develop best when their individual needs are met while having fun in a positive, nurturing environment. We aim to provide opportunities for every tamariki to have the freedom to learn and grow.

We offer a high-quality early childhood education in a stimulating environment which is open and caring for tamariki and their whānau. We see tamariki as capable, competent learners, and Te Whāriki is the curriculum used to guide our practice through a play-based approach. Come and visit us to see for yourself.

Facilities

Our centre has been in operation for over 30 years, and we can take up to 20 infants and toddlers under two and up to 39 tamariki aged over two. We have one team member for every four tamariki under two and one staff member for eight tamariki aged over two.

  • Licensed and chartered by the Ministry of Education
  • Two separate areas: one for infants and toddlers and one for young tamariki
  • Inside and outside play areas
  • Accessible parking by the entrance for arrivals and departures

Our team

Our close-knit team offer a range of qualifications and skills. They are experienced, knowledgeable educators passionate about supporting our ngā tamariki learning journeys, growth and development. The team are split across two rooms; one for under-twos and the other for over-twos. A number of our team are certified teachers and all hold current first aid certificates. We support all team members in training to become early childhood education teachers.
