- Operating region of superconductors, response to magnetic fields, critical current, quench and
recovery, different types of superconductor.
- Thermodynamics of cryogenic cooling systems, efficiency calculations, cryo-cooler operation
and design basics.
- Machine design principles for high power to weight ratios.
- Conduction and switching characteristics of wide band gap MOSFETs and the effects of
temperature.
- Advanced motor drive topologies.
