Prescription
This module aims to develop reading skills to meet common needs of students at a CEFR A1 level. Students will be able to understand very short, simple texts, a single phrase at a time, picking up familiar names, words and basic phrases and re-reading as required. Students will be able to get an idea of the content of simpler informational material and short simple descriptions, with visual support, and follow short, simple, written directions.

- Demonstrate understanding of very short, simple narratives, descriptions, single-step instructions, simple directions, and/or simple explanations a single phrase at a time.
Recognise purposes and viewpoints of short texts where these are made clearly and simply.
Locate specific information in short texts. - Content
- Range
-very familiar names, words and phrases in simple common texts found in everyday life
-isolated words, short simple phrases and grammatical structures that link clauses and help identify time reference
-meanings conveyed by capital letters and full stops in very simple sentences.
