Content
LO1:
- Permits to work, industry guidelines, manufacturer's specifications, standard operating procedures, job safety analysis, the selection and use of personal protective equipment, signage, inductions and training.
LO2:
- Risks, hazards, incidents, accidents, illness, pain and discomfort, defective controls, plant and equipment
- Notifiable work and events
LO3:
- Communication mediums and methods
- Methods of participation and consultation
- Barriers to communication
LO4:
- Positive workplace health and safety culture
- Negative factors
- Positive influences
Teaching and Learning Strategy
Learning and teaching activities will employ a range of elements drawn from approved methods. The activities chosen will align with the context of the learning (delivery mode, regional-specific requirements, etc.) and any particular needs of the group of aakonga.
Assessment Criteria
Aakonga will be advised of all matters relating to summative assessment at the start of the course. Assessment in this course is competency-based. Aakonga must successfully complete all specified assessment items in order to pass this course.
