- Structure, properties and bonding of chemical compounds
- Chemical formulae and chemical equations including rates and enthalpy change.
- Redox chemistry
- Acid-base equilibria including buffers and pH
- Calculations related to chemical analysis
- Application of practical chemistry skills in an operational or research context
- Analysis and reporting on samples

- LO1 Describe the properties of chemical elements and compounds in terms of redox behaviour, acid-base properties, bonding, and reactivity.
LO2 Apply practical chemistry skills in an applied science work related environment. - Assessment Criteria
- Assessment in this course employs an achievement-based grading scheme. Learners will be advised of all matters relating to summative assessment prior to the start of the course. Aakonga must submit all specified assessment items and obtain at least 50% overall score in order to pass this course.
