Learning Outcomes
1. Maintain a safe environment, identify potential hazards in a simulated clinical environment and describe appropriate responses to emergency situations.
2. Demonstrate skills, understanding and culturally safe care associated with assisting health consumers to safely perform activities of daily living.
3. Demonstrate beginning skills and safety in assessment, reporting, and documentation of consumer health status.
4. Demonstrate safe medication administration within the scope of enrolled nurse practice.
5. Identify the principles of a therapeutic relationship and demonstrate effective communication styles and approaches to respond to the holistic needs of the health consumer, family/whanau and other members of the health care team.

Hand Hygiene, Personal Hygiene, Vital signs, Therapeutic communication, Assessment, Nutrition, Manual handling, Elimination, Medication management, Sensory, Wound care, Rest and sleep

Patient assessment, documentation and reporting.
