Learning Outcomes
1. Develop/ further develop a proposal which will provide a strong structure to guide the dissertation.
2. Discuss the philosophical theories that underpin research
3. Critically analyse and identify paradigms and methodologies for practice inquiry that are appropriate to address their identified research question(s).
4. Critically evaluate the ethical and cultural implications of research
5. Plan, manage and document a substantial and logically structured inquiry as original research for dissemination on a topic related to nursing practice.
Content
• The content of the dissertation is mutually determined between the student and supervisor, dependent upon the student’s chosen topic of study
Assessment Criteria
This module will be marked externally and each student will be awarded a grade for their dissertation.

An extended reading list will be supplied by the tutor at the commencement of the module. This will be updated annually.
