Prescription
To provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of the benefits, risks and financing of international trade and develop an awareness of foreign exchange and capital markets. On completion of this module, students should be capable of undertaking routine supervised tasks in the international department of a financial intermediary, bank etc. with a view to gaining the practical experience to progress further.

understanding of the balance of payments account
2. Evaluate risk and risk management strategies involved in international trade
3. Demonstrate awareness of foreign exchange transactions and the concerns related to their
application in exporting and importing
4. Discuss trade terms and documentation for particular trade transactions
5. Apply knowledge to the bill of exchange including its use in finance for international trade

6. Apply knowledge of the procedures and regulations involved in documentary collections
and different types of documentary letters of credit in international trade

- Teaching will involve blended delivery methods incorporating the Moodle online delivery platform. Other delivery methods my involve theoretical and practical classes, face to face, lectures, tutorials, workshops, group activities, guest tutors, field trips, role-play, and video conferencing, as appropriate.
- Assessment Criteria
- Candidates must achieve a minimum result of 40 in the final examination of this module. They must also achieve a minimum C grade pass overall from all assessments to receive a passing grade for the module.
