To critically appraise the societal intersections that may influence the improvement and maintenance of hauora and quality of life across the lifespan. This module is designed to develop and enhance service delivery by developing a proposal for rangahau or research that will contribute to culturally responsive environments and will improve community hauora.

- 1. Critically analyse the contemporary models approaches of care that influence hauora in your practice setting through a community inquiry lens.
2. Deconstruct the social, cultural, economic, environmental and political factors that influence specific populations’ capacities for maintaining, restoring and improving hauora.
3. Critically explore inter-professional collaboration within health and social services to strengthen innovative change and inter-sectoral partnerships, to meet health consumer, whanau and community needs.
4. Identify and support opportunities for health promotion through the development of research inquiry in partnership with with health consumers, whanau and/or community organisations. - Content

Hauora is a Maaori concept of well-being, which encompasses the physical, mental and emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of health, and is recognised by the World Health Organisation. - Assessment Criteria
- The portfolio is comprised of multiple components. Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes and gain an overall mark of 50% to pass this module.
