This module aims to develop listening skills required to understand basic language at a CEFR mid B1 level. It will enable students to understand main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure etc. including short narratives.

Follow short conversations, both formal and informal, demonstrating understanding of gist, context, feelings, opinions and/or relationships, in familiar situations.
Follow the main points, speakers, purposes and/or attitudes in extended discussions on familiar topics.
Demonstrate understanding of straightforward narratives, instructions and/or directions for familiar procedures.
Extract and reproduce key information from announcements and media broadcasts on a range of familiar topics.
