Prescription
This module aims to develop reading skills required to understand written texts at a CEFR high B1 level. It will enable students to understand moderately complex written texts on reasonably familiar topics and subjects relating to his or her field of interest.

- Demonstrate understanding of main points, specific information and purpose of descriptions, feature articles, reports, instructions and/or narrations.
Interpret and use information in charts, diagrams, tables, graphs, and/or website menus.
Access, locate, and compare pieces of information online. - Content
- Range
-a range of vocabulary relating to work, leisure and study
-longer texts which contain some complex structures.
Register
-a range of features which indicate the purpose of a text.
Text structure
-text purpose through layout conventions, signs and symbols
-organisational features of texts to locate information
-organisational, lexical and grammatical features of texts
-meaning through discourse markers including sequence markers.
