- 1. Use correct scientific terminology to describe human anatomy and physiology, including cells and tissues.
2. Describe and explain the anatomy and physiology of the following organ systems: integumentary, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory, gastrointestinal.
3. Correctly use technical equipment and demonstrate accuracy in measurement and recording.
4. Discuss importance of different organ systems in midwifery and other healthcare professions. - Content

• Organisation of the body
• Cell structure and function
• Tissues
• Basic chemistry
• Anatomy and physiology of the following body systems: integumentary, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory and gastrointestinal.
• Introduction to infection control
• Biological measurements
• Tables, graphs, use of units - Assessment Criteria
- The portfolio is comprised of multiple components.
Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes, and gain an overall mark of 50% to pass this module. - Learning and Teaching Resource
