2. Identify social issues that impact on human development.
3. Examine lifespan from a developmental perspective.
4. Apply knowledge of selected Maaori and western human development concepts, perspectives and theories to social practice. - Content
- - Historical overview of human development located within Maaori and western literature
- Knowledge and application of Maaori and Western concepts, perspectives and theories of human development
- Development milestones and issues across the lifespan from Maaori and Western perspectives
- Concepts of development such as personality, language, intelligence, gender and socialisation
- Physical, psychological, social, spiritual and cognitive domains of development
- Human development theories and application to fields of social practice.
- Social issues in the context of human development - Teaching and Learning Strategy
- May include: Project-based Learning; Flipped Classroom; Blended Learning; Work-Integrated Learning; Inclusive Practices.
Methods may include workshops and practical classes, tutorials, case-based learning, inquiry-based learning, group activities & discussion, supported online learning, e-portfolio, practice simulation. - Assessment Criteria
- The portfolio is comprised of multiple components.
Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes, and gain an overall mark of 50% to pass this module.
