1. Describe Maaori and western psychology concepts, perspectives and theories.
2. Examine social issues from a psychology perspective.
3. Apply knowledge of selected Maaori and western psychology concepts, perspectives and theories to social practice.
Content
- Historical overview of psychology located within Maaori and western paradigms
- Knowledge and application of Maaori and western psychology concepts, perspectives and theories
- Factors that influence individual and group behaviours
- The application of psychology to social practice
- Social issues in the context of psychology
Assessment Criteria
The portfolio is comprised of multiple components.
Students need to provide evidence against all learning outcomes, and gain an overall mark of 50% to pass this module.
Teaching and Learning Strategy
May include: Project-based Learning; Flipped Classroom; Blended Learning; Work-Integrated Learning; Inclusive Practices.
Methods may include workshops and practical classes, tutorials, case-based learning, inquiry-based learning, group activities & discussion, supported online learning, e-portfolio, practice simulation.
