The purpose of this module is to enable the student to develop the skills to critically evaluate and integrate topics in sport and exercise nutrition into professional nutrition practice. The student will demonstrate the application of nutrition knowledge in a clinical consultative context through the management and evaluation of a specific nutrition project.

- Literature review and critique
- Review and evaluate literature and scientific evidence for current sport nutrition models;
- Existing knowledge in sport nutrition is analysed and applied; and the role of nutrient supplementation in health and exercise is researched and evaluated.
Review of nutrient supplementation
- A project in the area of sport or exercise nutrition is developed, managed and evaluated;
- Personal practice to evaluate the scientific basis for the role of nutrition in health and exercise is reflected upon
- A process for undertaking continued professional competency, including research, is established.

- 1. Critically analyse and evaluate theories and models of the relationship between nutrition, health, and exercise performance.

- Assessment Criteria
- An overall mark of 50% or greater is required to pass this Module.
