About
After working as a Vet Nurse for six years, I joined the Animal Technology team at Wintec in 2018 and have never looked back. I have been involved in all of the programmes here and have spent time tutoring in the teaching surgery also.
When not at work, I enjoy being active on the farm with my two children. I also enjoy hunting, vegetable gardening, and anything related to sourdough bread.

What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?
I love being able to pass on my knowledge and passion with everything that I teach. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing students have that “ah-ha! It all makes sense now” moment.
What do you love about your area?
Being a self-proclaimed biology nerd, I love being able to teach anatomy and physiology, and anything that involves biology as a key element. Of course, a deep love for animals also means that I enjoy teaching everything to do with them.
Tell us about your experience in the industry
I was especially interested in orthopaedic and dental surgery when in the industry and have carried this passion through into my teaching. I like to be adaptable in all areas of my career so I was often moved between various areas in the vet clinic. One day, assisting in complex surgeries, and the next, running a puppy preschool for the local community. Within my role as a Vet Nurse, I thoroughly enjoyed having students on work placement, so the move into this teaching space was a natural progression for me.
