About

After finishing school, I worked as a chef for several years before deciding to head in a new direction with my career. I studied at Wintec to gain my Certificate in Vet Nursing and have worked in the animal industry since then. I have two young children and many animals at home, which keep me busy outside of work.

What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?

My favourite part of my role is being able to share experiences and stories with our learners to try and spark a passion within them. It's so rewarding to see them flourish from shy and unsure on day one to the professionals that graduate at the end of the course and head out into the industry.

What do you love about your area?

Tell us about your experience in the industry

After completing my certificate in veterinary nursing, I worked in a few different areas within the animal care industry, including a busy boarding kennel, animal control and SPCA. I loved working in the welfare industry and being a voice for the animals who didn’t have owners. I then moved into a role in a busy vet clinic where I got to build my nursing skills and see some strange and interesting cases. After having my first child, I found my way to the Wintec teaching team and have been here ever since.
