What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?
Working with staff/students on their projects and performances, can be quite enjoyable alongside collaborative activities with other departments.
What do you love about your area?
The people. Working with a highly skilled and passionate team adds to the enjoyment of day to day worklife. There are laughs aplenty.
Tell us about your experience in the industry
Freelance Livesound/Recording engineer since 1999. Instrument tutor in drums, bass and guitar at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels (2001/2003) PTASM for the Maori Department at Wintec (Toi Whakaari 2001/2002). TIC Music at Huntly College (2002) PTASM for Music Certificate at Wintec (2003/2004) Music Technician at Wintec (2003-now) Musiciian in the Waikato/BOP/Auckland regions performing in live music venues since 1998 (too many to mention). Musician for T P & B J Tocker Limited (2005-now) Musician for The Lawrenson Group (2013-now)
What keeps you busy outside of Media Arts?
Lead guitarist/vocalist in the band Magic Eye playing Friday/Saturday nights at The Bank Bar & Brasserie. Home renovations. Fishing. Play competitive 8, 9 & 10 Ball.
