What do you enjoy about teaching/your job?

I enjoy working with a team of artistic types and being able to bring new ideas to fruition. We’re into scheming-up inspiring creative experiences for not only students at Wintec, but the entire Kirikiriroa community. My role is to champion these events and ideas and share the student experience through creative communication.

What do you love about your area?

It’s fitting that I have an enthusiasm for all things creative being situated in an arts school. I adore theatre and music performances (as a member of the audience) just as much as viewing art exhibitions, and I have a deep respect for good design, so being surrounded by this day-to-day is a win-win for me.

Tell us about your experience in the industry

With a background in visual arts and teaching, followed by a segue into visual storytelling and video production, I find working at The School of Media Arts the perfect match to my skill set. I enjoy working with student interns, their fresh approach is energising, and it’s wonderful seeing them work towards hard-earned achievements.

What keeps you busy outside of Media Arts?

Outside of my part-time role at The School of Media Arts I dabble in various arts projects, am kept busy with my family of three, and support my partner who operates a video production business.
