Summary
The New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Services Pathways) (Level 3) will provide you with the knowledge, theory and confidence to apply for training or employment in the New Zealand Police, Armed Forces or Correction Services. You will be introduced to problem and scenario-based learning that will enable you to build interview skills, leadership capabilities, and essential fitness levels to apply for and pass entry tests and training.
Our experienced tutors support you at every stage of your journey through dedicated class time and practical activities with online resources to further support your self-directed learning.
What you will learn
You will complete four modules, totalling 60 credits. Two modules cover career, communication, and study skills, with the remaining two focusing on the services pathway.

Entry criteria
There is open entry to this programme although students must demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of success.
General admission
- Achievement of NCEA Level 1 or equivalent
- Minimum of 17 years of age at the start of the programme
Selection criteria
Candidates need to be physically fit to complete the programme and may be required to participate in an interview.
English language requirements
Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 5.0 with no individual band score lower than 5.0 or equivalent.
