Engineering in Action Day
Engineering involves using scientific principles to design and build machines, structures, tunnels, roads, buildings, and much more. There are excellent career prospects for those interested in the field.
Join us for an interactive day in partnership with the Waikato Engineering Careers Association (WECA). This event is an opportunity for Year 12 and Year 13 secondary school students to learn about the engineering industry and what Wintec offers. You will get to tour our engineering facilities, visit two local engineering firms, engage with staff from WECA, and learn more about the different specialisations within engineering (civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering).
Date: Wednesday 21 May 2025
Time: 9am-2.30pm
Venue: G Block, Rotokauri Campus
Itinerary:
9am-9.30am – Travel to the first industry
9.30am-11am – Industry visit
11am-11.30am – Travel back to Rotokauri Campus
11.30am-12.30pm – Lunch and activities
12.30pm-1pm – Travel to second industry
1pm-2.30pm – Industry visit
2.30pm – Return to school travel
