Gold for Wintec’s Engineering and Trades Facility
Wintec’s Engineering & Trades Facility won the Education Project category and was awarded a gold medal at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards held on May 8 in Auckland.
The award winners – which are selected by the Registered Master Builders Association – represent the best of New Zealand’s commercial property sector.
Designed by Chow:Hill Architects, this is the second award the Engineering and Trades Facility has received following on from receiving the Education Award at the recent Waikato/Bay of Plenty Architecture Awards.
Wintec’s Engineering and Trades Facility was opened in July 2014 and is home to more than 1000 engineering and trades students and 100 Wintec staff.
The building’s unique design and function make it New Zealand’s most modern engineering and trades education facility, with an open plan layout, flexible teaching spaces and the latest technologies.
