Wintec wins technology excellence award
Wintec took out an award at the 2016 Microsoft Tertiary ICT Excellence awards held in Auckland on Thursday 6 October.
Wintec won the Microsoft Excellence in Technology Delivery award for its delivery of business intelligence solutions based on the Microsoft Power BI technology platform.
Through the programme, Wintec identified opportunities for growth and diversification in international markets and improvements in student recruitment and other internal functions.
As a result of these findings changes were made to reduce processing times for students in the enrolment process, improved decision making and developing an innovative and proactive international strategy.
Wintec’s director of information technology, Bradley Vines said it was extremely satisfying to receive the award for the organisation’s forward-thinking approach to using data to better inform their processes, which will directly benefit their students.
"This is well deserved recognition of the hard work invested by the team this past year. It is wonderful to see our data being used so effectively to answer questions that come up regularly across the organisation. This is only the beginning - we will continue using these tools to answer those questions and gain more insights that we can rapidly turn into business improvement and value for our students."
The Microsoft Tertiary ICT Excellence Awards are presented at the annual Tertiary ICT conference to celebrate ICT excellence within tertiary education. They are judged by a panel of industry experts. The panel said they were impressed with Wintec’s ability to obtain genuine stakeholder engagement throughout the project and for delivery of real, quantifiable benefits for the institution.
This is the fifth Microsoft Excellence award that Wintec has received over the past four years for its delivery of innovative technology solutions.
