Wintec weekend of fashion ahead in the Waikato

Wintec fashion students, in conjunction with the NZ Fashion Museum and Waikato Museum, will share their work as part of a Waikato fashion, past and present series of events this weekend in Hamilton.

The Wintec Future Fashionista’s Exhibition features a selection of fashion design work created by Wintec fashion design students from the past three years.

“We cannot wait to show the public what we have been planning over the last few weeks” says Brydie Senior, third year fashion student.

The exhibition has been curated by the final year students who are excited to share their work and their fashion degree experience.

Rebekah Harman, Wintec fashion lecturer and project facilitator of the event says, “the third year fashion students have worked hard over the last few weeks to collate this work. They have put a lot of thought into the exhibition and are excited to host and share their experiences with the public”.

Waikato Museum welcomes the opportunity to host Wintec fashion students’ work, which will complement the exhibitions from the NZ Fashion Museum and Dressing Australia Museum of Costume on show until 14 October.

The group of third year students will be available to answer questions from the public and give a ‘sneak-peak’ at the final year collections that are in progress for Wintec’s end-of-year fashion show on 18 November at Hamilton’s Meteor theatre.
