It's here, the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards 2020

NZPPA 2020 exhibition at Wintec 3 - 5 October 2020
Wintec has partnered with The New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards (NZPPA) , and the 2020 Award exhibition can be viewed from 3-5 October in the Atrium.

Judged by Julia Waite, Curator of New Zealand Art at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, the awards prize winners will be announced on Friday 2 October, including the winner of the Wintec Media Arts Merit in Painting Award.

This year the awards drew a record 408 entries

Convenor for the 2020 NZPPA, Laree Payne of Weasel Gallery says the award event, delayed until now because of Covid-19 alert levels is going ahead with some changes.

"Unfortunately our Auckland-based artists and supporters will not be attending the opening event. Auckland remains under Alert Level 2, and cannot attend gatherings of more than 100 people."

There is help at hand for those unable to make the opening. The event will be livestreamed from the Waikato Society of Arts (WSA) Facebook page.

The NZPPA  exhibition can be viewed in person on 3- 5 October from 10am-4pm at the Atrium, Wintec House, Anglesea Street, Hamilton.

Join Nicol Sanders-O’Shea from the Print Council Aotearoa NZ at a floortalk on Saturday at 10am in the Atrium.
