Summary

Give your manufacturing career a boost with the New Zealand Certificate in Manufacturing (Level 3). You will gain essential skills and knowledge to work as an operator or trade assistant in a manufacturing plant or workshop.

This course is flexible and designed for those already working in the manufacturing sector. You will learn to:

  • Contribute to a safe working environment
  • Map inter-dependencies between processes in a manufacturing operation
  • Maintain and control a manufacturing process to ensure product quality
  • Carry out operational tasks within a manufacturing process to meet organisational requirements
You also have the opportunity to further specialise in the Productivity Improvement stand that will give you experience in applying productivity improvement principles and responsibilities to manufacturing tasks improving values and outcomes.

Entry criteria

General admission

There is open entry to this programme although you must demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of success.

Programme specific admission

In addition, applicants must also meet the following programme-specific requirements: 
  1. To meet legal and health requirements, candidates must be physically able to carry out the practical components of the programme.

English language requirement

Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) General or Academic score of 5, with no individual band score lower than 5 from a single test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules.

You are warmly invited to attend the official welcome to Wintec for all new students, staff and whānau (family) at either our marae, Te Kōpū Mānia o Kirikiriroa or Rotokauri campus. The pōwhiri is a welcoming ceremony involving mihimihi (speeches), waiata (singing), and will conclude with kai timotimo (light refreshments). Please gather at the campus hubs, and a staff member will guide you through our pōwhiri.
