Outdoor Experience (Level 2)

About the programme

The Outdoor Experience Level 2 course encompasses a variety of outdoor recreation and industry credits, achieved onsite at our Rotokauri Campus. Students will complete a 31-week programme and participate in activities like canoeing, hiking, navigation, rock climbing and abseiling. Students will also learn about the weather, team building, life skills, first aid, kaitiakitanga, risk management and adventure tourism. By using the surrounding environment, we will take a place-responsive approach to connect the students with the Waikato area while providing them with challenging and exciting new experiences.

NCEA Level: Level 2

Number of credits: 25

Criteria: Students enrolled in the WTA programmes must still attend secondary school and keep up with their normal school work. The unit standards achieved in WTA will count towards NCEA Level 1,2 or 3.

Duration of programme: 31 weeks

Programme structure: One day per week (8.30am-3pm) during the school term.

Location: Rotokauri Campus (campus maps).

Cost: Free to the student.

Transport: To be arranged with your school and if applicable covered by WTA.
