Josh Emett
In 2011 Josh took on the role of judging Masterchef New Zealand making him a household name across New Zealand and continued on through 5 seasons of the hit show.
In 2012 Josh returned to NZ and established Mayfare Group Ltd with business partner Fleur Caulton. They opened their first restaurant, Rata in Queenstown.
Ostro opened in 2013 in the Britomart precinct of Auckland’s downtown area with Josh as food director.
In 2014 Josh & Fleur opened Madam Woo in Queenstown, a casual Malaysian restaurant to huge success. Seeing how popular this was they have gone on to open three more Madam Woos in Dunedin, Takapuna and just recently in Hamilton with Christchurch due to open in February 2017.
Josh Emett, New Zealand’s own Michelin Star chef is a Wintec graduate, receiving an Honorary Fellowship from Wintec in 2012. Wintec is very proud to sponsor Josh at the Great NZ Food Show, and Josh has great memories from his studying days at Wintec. He says, “As someone who just wanted to get into a kitchen and start working, Wintec’s hands on practical learning was a perfect fit. Through Wintec’s connection to industry I gained work experience in Auckland’s Cin Cin restaurant which resulted in a full time job and my career as a chef began.”
