About the programme
Do you have an interest in early childhood education? This programme will introduce you to the practical and theoretical skills needed in the ECE industry.
Gain a head-start and get a taste of what a future career in ECE could look like. Learn about the value of play, the importance of relationships, safe practices, development and learning, and Te Whāriki: He whāriki mātauranga mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa Early childhood curriculum.
Once completed, these credits count towards your NCEA Level 2 and 3 qualifications. You may also have the fundamental skills and knowledge to move onto a full-time study in the Wintec Te Paetahi Akoranga Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) programme.

Criteria: Students enrolled in the WTA must still attend secondary school and keep up with their normal school work.
